Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Park (345 Kms – Approximately 6 hours)
0700hrs – Depart Nairobi and drive north to Samburu National Park, crossing the equator en route.  Arrive at Samburu Lodge in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.
Return to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 2: Samburu
Full day in Samburu National Park, with morning and afternoon game drives.
Samburu National Reserve is one of the lesser-known national parks, but is nevertheless teeming with life. Situated alongside the Ewaso Nyiro River, there is plenty to attract wildlife from the surrounding savannah plains. The reserve is rich in wildlife with an abundance of rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk and the beisa oryx (also referred to as Samburu Special Five). The reserve is also popular with a minimum of 900 elephants. Large predators such as the lion, leopard and cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the miracle lioness that adopted the baby oryx is a resident in the reserve).
Meals  and overnight at a Lodge or Luxury tented Lodge

Day 3: Samburu – Aberdares (210 Kms – Approximately 3.5hrs)

Lunch at Outspan Country Club. Outspan is located in the market town of Nyeri and was the last home of Lord Baden-Powell. After lunch, drive to Treetops Lodge. The remainder of the afternoon and evening is spent watching game gathering at the waterhole and saltlick in front of the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge

Day 4: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru (190 Kms – Approximately 3.5 hours)
In the morning, return to Outspan Country Club for breakfast.  After breakfast, continue to Lake Nakuru, arriving at Lake Nakuru Lodge for lunch. Lunch is followed by an afternoon game drive

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara (325 Kms – Approximately 5.5 hours)
After an early morning breakfast leave the flamingo fringed Lake Nakuru behind and head for Njoro town, where you begin your ascent up over the top of the Mau Escarpment. Then, heading due south, travel towards Narok, the gateway to the Maasai Mara and district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. You’ll travel across the “breadbasket” of Kenya, covered with acres of wheat and barley, before you reach the Mara in time for lunch. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.

Day 6: Masai Mara
Get up at 6.30am for an early morning game drive. You will have time to grab a quick drink and snack before your safari vehicle departs. The best time to see wildlife is early morning and late afternoon. In the middle part of the day animals tend to seek shade and are less active, making game viewing more difficult
Return to the Lodge for a hearty breakfast followed by some rest and relaxation
Afternoon game drive followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the Lodge
NB: Today is the ideal day for memorable adventurous Balloon Excursion – at extra cost

Meals  and overnight at a Lodge or Luxury tented Lodge

Day 7: Masai Mara – Nairobi (300 Kms – Approximately 5 hours drive).
After breakfast, the safari returns to Nairobi. You’ll arrive into Kenya’s bustling capital at midday. Once in the city, you will be dropped off at a city centre hotel or the airport for your ongoing travel arrangements. (an extension to Mombasa or Zanzibar is recommended)
